Melvins – Thunderball LP Vinyl Record

Sludge metal trailblazersMelvins are back with Thunderball—a gritty, bombastic new release that stays true to their uncompromising roots. This latest album captures the raw, chaotic spirit of the band’s early years while pushing their experimental boundaries even further.

Thunderball reunites the 1983 lineup of Buzz Osborne and Mike Dillard, joined by special guests Void Manes and Ni Maitre, for a five-track juggernaut steeped in fuzz-drenched riffs, thundering percussion, and unfiltered energy. A record born of frustration, friendship, and defiance, it reflects a musical partnership forged in the isolation of small-town Washington—one that continues to influence generations of underground rock and metal bands.

Buzz Osborne describes Thunderball as the third installment of the Melvins 1983 lineup, and “a real shit show” in the best way—bombastic, unrelenting, and already setting the stage for a more extreme follow-up. With worldwide touring underway, including festival slots and a co-headline US tour with Napalm Death, Thunderball is more than a release—it’s a statement.
